Fall Winter 2016
Art, poetry and romanticism are the key to understanding the next Luvé FW, with fabrics and garments that evoke faraway lands, in particular the cold regions of Russia with a digression into the neighbouring Far East. Ancient cultures and traditions as a source of inspiration for next winter give birth to a style that joins finesse and rugged folklore. A tribute to Russia’s aristocratic traditions of St. Petersburg, mixed together with the folklore found in small villages of the Ural Mountains form a fresh and innovative, contemporary style. Luvé dedicates this collection to women wanting to impress with their elegance, worn with nonchalance and a pinch of gipsy style. The contours suggest the key elements of the late seventies. Overcoats and jackets with narrow shoulders, wide, slightly puffed sleeves, wasp waists held by high hand-made belts. Skirts are loose, long, with a very high basque waist in contrasting fabrics, blouses are loose-fitting, wide, closed with foulards or strings decorated with passementerie, also suggested in jacket froggings. The collection also includes numerous evening dresses made out of devore silk velvet, fil coupé silk, ultrasoft and warm cashmere cloths. All fabrics are manufactured by the best tailors in Como and Biella: soft velvets with passementerie along the hem, silk and wool fils coupé with geometric and floral designs, cashmere cloths printed with traditional Russian patterns, crisp silk taffetas combined with soft cashmere cloths and woollen loops enriched with shiny, uniquely braided Lurex threads.
The colours are sober yet vibrant, combined in shades from red to orange and from prune to purple, applied across an imaginary artist’s black canvas. Black is indeed the common theme of this collection that conveys the Baroque spirit and, in some elements, the minimalist characteristic of the Far East. In the category of shoewear, alias Luvé’s core business, plenty of room is dedicated to boots made out of soft suede and tied with braided laces and passementerie. Heels are lined with leather or reptile skin. For the evening look, Luvé focuses on heels dipped in pure gold to confer shine to the sensual, silk velvet open-toe heels. The great diva will certainly be the winter version of the iconic Ursula Bag tailored in precious leather with elements in astrakhan and galuchat. Drapes of elegance, layers and layers of style: a collection telling of stories over the top, of vanity and adventure, power and rebellion.
